Our 18th Anniversary

Eighteen years! How has the time passed so quickly? On Saturday Bob and I celebrated the special day by taking a cruise on Saguaro Lake in Mesa, AZ. Saguaro Lake is a ten mile long body of water surrounded by cliffs and bluffs.

There are lots of lakes in Arizona; however all but two of them are manmade. Saguaro Lake was formed in 1930 when the Stewart Mountain Dam was built on the Salt River. It is a beautiful place to cruise or play in the water, even on a cool, cloudy day such as we had. The temperatures on land didn’t get above 64 and it was cooler on the water.

Bob and I got seats on the open top deck at first.

When we became too cold we went down below where we found a spot to stand near the heater and watched the beautiful landscape glide by and listened to the Captain describe the area. It was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

On the drive home we caught a glimpse of two of the area’s many wild horses that roam the region.

Bob has been working diligently on the kitchen cabinet doors and hopefully he will finish them this month. I have been weaving a Baltic band with fine threads and lots of detail.

We are enjoying our winter here in AZ very much!
