Moving Diana

My niece, Diana, was moving out of her parent's house and into her own apartment on Saturday, so Bob and I spent the day helping out. The weather was cooperative, with sunny skies, a perfect day to move, so off we went!

The apartment was about 40 minutes from my sister Cheryl's house. I lead the way in my car  (following my sister's directions,) with Cheryl's husband George driving his pickup truck full of "stuff" and Bob driving the U-Haul behind me.  George's friend, Ron, rode with Bob and provided more muscle. George's Uncle Peter also was a big help. The men got everything off the trucks and got beds set up, while the rest of us unpacked and cleaned. At lunch time we all walked around the corner to the local pizza joint which happened to be owned by George's brother's brother-one-law. Family! They welcomed us with three big pizzas, huge Greek salads, French fries, sodas, and rice pudding and cake for dessert. We waddled back to Diana's house, spent some time organizing, and then left for Cheryl and George's house for a glass of wine and some veggies and hummus. None of us felt like a big meal but the nibbles were perfect!

Sunday was a day to rest up. We straightened up the motorhome, made phone calls, did laundry, and relaxed in our screen room. Later we walked over to visit Dick and Rita, a couple whom we contacted through RVillage, an RV community. Through RVillage we can see what members are in the campground that we are in, and can send them a message. It's a great way to meet people. We hung out for a while, sharing experiences and having fun making new friends, before heading back to our site for supper. It was a very nice day.
